Fish keeping in glass bowl
There are many people who love to keep fish in round jars. Be it in any way or just to look good, the hobby of keeping fish in round jars is very popular nowadays. But the problem is that the fish do not want to live in the round jar. There are many people who buy a jar and want to keep colorful fish indoors, and there are many people who buy round jars and kill the fish repeatedly and ruin their hobby. Those who have lost their hobby, share their bad experiences with new people, dissuade them from keeping fish in their jars.
I will tell both types of people that if you trust me, it is possible to keep several types of fish very well in a water jar, yes some types of fish can be kept, not all types.
Keeping a betta fish (fighter) in a round jar is usually very easy, but the problem starts when one tries to keep a fish other than a betta fish in a jar. I will discuss how you can keep fish other than Betta fish in your round jar for long periods of time.
First of all, compared to an aquarium, keeping fish in a round jar is much tuff, but possible. If you want to keep fish alive in round jars, then the rules I will mention must be followed, otherwise you will join the ranks of those people who say that fish do not live in round jars.
100 out of 100 people go home with the round jar and the fish together, this is the first step in the whole round jar fish dying. If you buy a jar, fill it with water, add medicine and then release the fish, there is a 100 percent chance that the fish will die. No matter how much filtered water you put in the jar, no matter how much oxygen you put in the jar, no matter how much filter you put in the jar, there is a 100 percent chance that the fish will die. See what to do.
Do not buy fish on the first day with a jar purchase. Fill the jar with water on the first day. Do not give water that has tds more than 250. Only give water that has tds below 250. When buying a round jar, bring a small amount (50ml) of old aquarium water from the aquarium store where you buy the jar. Come home and fill the jar with water and mix the old aquarium water with your jar. Continue fitting the pump or filter or whatever decorations. Do not use any kind of medicine.
1) Fill the jar with 1 to 2 days old water. Do not give water that is less than 1 day old or more than 2 days old, after filling the water, add old aquarium water from the store to that water.
2) Continue pump filter in the jar.
3) Leave it like that for at least 24 hours. After that release the fish in that water.
4) Don't release more than a certain amount of fish.
5) On the first day of release, do not let the fish eat. Feed the fish from day 2 onwards.
6) Feed the fish in such quantity that the food is consumed by the fish within 1 minute, yes just 1 minute.
7) If the jar is equipped with oxygen motor, filter, never switch them off, not even at night.
8) Remember that 8 inch size round jar, any below size jar i.e. 4 inch, 6 inch size jar can not keep any fish other than Betta fish. A minimum 8 inch jar is required for keeping fish other than Betta fish. To keep goldfish in a jar, you need a jar of at least 10 inches.
9) In case of 1 8 inch size jar, it should not contain more than 5 to 6 fishes if it is small fish.
10) Remember that a 1 inch size fish needs at least 8 inches to 10 inches of space horizontally. That means if you buy a 10 inch size jar, there is no way to keep a 1 inch size fish in that jar. Remember that a 1 inch size small fish requires 1 liter of water. That means if your jar holds 4 liters of water, you can only hold 4 fish of 1 inch size in that jar.
11) If you want to keep goldfish then a 1 inch size goldfish will require 2.5 to 3 liters of water. You can keep fish in proportion to the water in the jar you buy, just don't try to overstock it. Putting an oxygen pump in a jar doesn't mean you can keep 2 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch fish in a 10 inch jar. If you want to keep goldfish in a jar, you must install a filter.
12) Supply of oxygen in the jar should be done in proper quantity. Even if the quantity of oxygen supply is high, the fish will die. An air controller should be used to control the air supply to the jar.
13) Don't waste space with too many decorations inside the jar.
14) For the jar, you must select the type of fish that live together.
15) If the fish grow bigger in the jar, those fish must be moved to another bigger place.
Never do a 100 part water change in a jar, do a 50 part change. Change the water according to the rules for changing the water in the jar.
