Angel fish ( অ্যাঞ্জেল ফিশ )

Origins specially in amazon basin brazil Orinoco basin and various rivers in the Guiana shield in tropical south America

LIFE SPAN:   generaly  4 to 6 years in captivity.But it depend on aquarium size. In nature they can alive 10 – 12 years.

SIZE:-  Maximum 6 inc diameter  body size, but with their long  dorsal fin and annals fin it may be 10 inc towards.

HABIT and NATURE:-  an unique rectangular body shape.They  like planted, rock,wood (bough wood or drift wood). Angel fish are frequently striped longitudinally.They are peace full.This graceful cichlid is amongst the most popular of all tropical fish.You can keep young angel fish in a community tank, but i suggest to keep them in a single species set up. 

ANGLE FISH ARE COMPATIBILITY:-  angel fishes are compatible with gold fish species,rainbow species like peacock rainbow,scarled rainbow,bosemony rainbow, doller, smaller corydoras species sivoram, some peacefull chielid like, ramirezi , discus etc.

ANGEL  FISH NOTCOMPATIBLE :-   angel fishes are uncompatible with any fin nippers fish like tiger barb,  rossy barb, tinfoil berb. Mally speciesetc,any attaking chchlid groups like,convict cichlids, jweel chchlid ,aradas chchlid, ice blue chchlid and any affican chchlid .  attaking fish like large size carp,parrot , piranaha ect.

TEMPERAMENT:- Relatively peaceful,but sometime maybe territorial specially when they are in spawning mood .

DIET:- you can feed them any good prepaired food.You can after them some vegetable matter.They can also like live food like live worms, dafnia , red worm.Blood worms,mosquito larva,small size live shrimps etc. They can consume very little amount of food,so you have to conscious  about food amount.

_{HEALTH:-  if you want to give them a good health always keep in the fresh and clean water. stress and poor water condition is main cause of their disease.} 

_{TEMPERATURE:-                    recomended temperature is 24 digree centigrade - 28 digree centigrade  (75-82   F )}

WATER CONDITION:-always keep them in soft water,(hardnase lavel 50 to 100 mg/Lt ) and slitely acidic  (PH 6.5)

WATER CHANGE:- 40 to 50% water in every week all time use matured and some temperature water.

For better result  USE peat extract or black water at the time of change water.

TANK SIZE:- angel fish can grow up to 6 inc long and 8 inches tall. So you have to provide minimum 24/12/12 inc size aquarium and more bigger then that.Try to make extra tall aquarium. Bigger is always preferred.

LIGHTNING:- you can use L.E.D bulb or tube,fluorescent tube, neon tube, or any plant growth light.

FILTRATION:- They need a good water condition. You have to attach one or two effective filter in your aquarium. You may attach corner filter, bio sponge filter,hang on filter, power filter, top filter, canister filter, trickle filter,sump filter, etc . remember : high speed water flow in your aquarium may harmful for your angel fish .

DISEASES and TREATMENT:- The most common angel fish disease are.

(a)velvet diseases:-

Symptoms:  The fish are lethargic. Whitish gold/ brown/grey coating develops on the fins and body.They swim unnaturally.Fishes rub their own body against object. Breath more rapidly than normal.

TREATMENT:- You need 15 day treatment.At first separate your stick fish in an another aquarium or a bucket (minimum 30 lt water capacity) add ½ tab metronidazole 400 mg tab.In this treatment period offer them anti parasite food, it is better provide a sponge filter with low aeration.Every after two days,siphon out 50./. water and add new matured same temperature water, also add 1/8 tab metronidazole 400 mg . after 15 days.When they are compleatly cure you can stop treatment and get back them in to your main aquarium.

(b)  White spots disease (parasite disease)

SYMPTOMS:-  Small white spots over the fin and body. Try to rub itself  against  object in aquarium . slow movement. They have loss of  appetite.

TREATMENT:-3 day treatment 1^st day up rise the water temperature up to 2 digree ,  change the water 10 to 20 percent  with mature water .

add 2 teaspoon aquarium salt .

add 2 drops metheline blue per 10 lt of water or 2 drops malachite green per 10 lt water.

2^nd day change the water 10./.

3^rd day change 10./. water add 1 drop metheline blue or malachite green per 10lt of water.

For best result don’t feed your fish three day treatment time.

Head hole deasease:-

Symptoms (1)  at first pale areas develop on the head becoming ulcerated.

(2) there after secondary parasite attacked and make a hole and specially on there head .if you late to start treatment the parasite produce large hole, if the parasite reaches the angel fishes internal organ. the fish will die.

(3) angel fish will stop eating.

Treatment:-(1)separate the affected fish in an another aquarium(minimum capacity 30 lt water)

(2)Every 2 to 3 hours in crease the water temperature of the hospital aquarium 1 degree until it reaches 32  digree centigrade .

(3).- Add fenmendazole/metronidazole1/2tab in hospital tank.

(4):-after 3day siphon out 50./.of water and add new water use 1/2 tab fenmendazole/ metronidazale. 

(5).-treatment continue up to 15 days.
